We care about our community!

The Caring Hearts & Hands of Quail Creek group aims to assist and help military families, and Youth On Their Own (YOTO) and the LAPAN Sunshine Foundation while receiving gratification knowing we contribute to and nurture their future.

Our group creates handmade items (knitted, crocheted, sewn, and woodwork) and collects in-kind donations to help serve those in need. We participate in and help with programs to include:

  • Welcome Baby Baskets
  • YOTO mini-mall replenishment
  • Military Family Baby Shower
  • Adopt a Lapan Family Christmas
  • Hand-Colored Greeting Cards (link) All the proceeds from the greeting cards support our charity activity.

♦ Below are some of our planned activities ♦

Military Families

In conjunction with the 162nd Air National Guard, we will plan an annual baby shower for 30 enlisted mothers-to-be or spouses of enlisted service personnel.

We thank the Southern AZ Diaper Bank, Q&A Financial Group, and White Elephant for their generous donations and continued support.

Welcome Baby Baskets are made up of handcrafted and purchased items for a newborn throughout the year.

We facilitate transporting extra back-to-school supplies the military collects and give them to Youth On Their Own.

Youth On Their Own (YOTO)

Caring Hearts & Hands of Quail Creek will participate in YOTO‘s Back-to-School Challenge (July-Sept). Throughout the year, we plan to stock non-perishable groceries, hygiene, and cleaning items in their mini-mall to include small Ziploc bags of spices made up from bulk purchases of the 25 most popular spices.

(The mini-mall provides YOTO students who need assistance with 10 lbs. of items per week.)

LAPAN Sunshine Foundation

Caring Hearts & Hands of Quail Creek supports this Foundation with holiday gifts for the children, and holiday dinner supplies.

The LAPAN Sunshine Foundation was founded in California in 1989. Patricia Lapan wanted to help students who may not qualify for scholarships but had the drive and determination to succeed. The Foundation moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2004 where it continues today.

Mission – To continue the legacy of Patricia Lapan by supporting the Lapan College & Career Club directly and indirectly through partner programs, and broadly investing in the lives of youth through their education.
